Sabbath School Classes
Here at the Dunlap Seventh-day Adventist church, we offer a number of classes for the very young of us to the oldest where the emphasis is not only just to spiritually educate ourselves but also to encourage and fellowship with one another.
Our classes start at 9:30 am, for all age groups, just after first service. For the first 20 minutes, the adults meet in the sanctuary for a joint Sabbath school class. For this joint class we have testimonies, mission spotlights, and devotional thoughts. Once the joint class is over, the adults break up into their individual classes.
The classes are described below by age.
Cradle Roll - Mary
We are so thankful to Mary for stepping in and doing such a great job in the cradle roll class. Another great benefit from having Mary is that her husband creates all of the crafts used in the class. The children enjoy the animals and other things that he makes. The class is attended by five to six children along with their parents. Come to enjoy and make new friends.
Kindergarten - Sharon
We have a wonderful Kindergarten Class for children ages 5-7 each week . Our class consists of singing, praises and prayer requests, a lesson from nature about God or a mission story, and a Bible study.
We want the children in our class to feel affirmed in their learning, know they are loved and be growing in their love of Jesus. We have a great team working together to teach and provide this learning environment.

Primary - Heather
Hi, my name is Heather Boyd and I am truly blessed to be the Primary class teacher! Our class is for ages 7-11. We have about six regular attendees, but often have nine or more. We have a wonderful time each Sabbath singing songs, sharing our prayer requests and praises, practicing scripture memory, listening to amazing stories in our mission corner, and digging into God's word for ourselves in the Bible stories! At the end of each quarter I give all the students an opportunity to repeat the entire Bible memory passage if they wish to, and receive a prize. Our goal is to encourage young people to hide God's word in their hearts as a guide for the rest of their lives. Come join us for an hour of joy as we learn more of our amazing God and His plan for our lives!
Juniors and Youth - Shari
The best place to be in all the world on Sabbath morning is with our Junior/Youth Sabbath School class! My name is Shari McKeown and what a precious privilege we have to work with the youth, ages 12-18. Our young people are on fire for Jesus!
A favorite part of our Sabbath morning time together is song service. Many bring musical instruments to play as we lift our voices to God. We have a sweet time of sharing praises and requests, followed by group prayer and lesson study. Our youth are true Young Disciples of Jesus who are making Scripture study, memorization, and enthusiastic evangelism the culture of their lives.
Come visit us! We love to welcome new faces and make new friends.
Intergenerational Adult Class - Ken
The Intergenerational Sabbath School is for ages 18-99. As you enter this class, you will encounter lively discussions on the week's adult quarterly Sabbath School lesson. The class begins with prayer requests and a special prayer. We rotate between our regular members and once a month we invite a guest teacher. This way we have as much diversity with our teachers as we do with our members. We gain a blessing from our age diversity.
When you visit, our class is in the "Upper Room" next to where the Spanish congregation meets.
Adult Class in the Library - Gerard
This adult class meets in the library and over time it has developed into a friendly adult class of about 10 to 15 attendees that LOVES to study deeply at home and thoroughly enjoys discussing the lesson in class. The class coordinator is Dr. Gerard but class members also teach.
If you love lots of active discussion in a small class setting, this one is for you. Come join us!
